Hybrid Vs Electric Vehicle 7 Key Difference

As we already know Hybrid is now in India. It is also known as the Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), which is a type of car that combines an internal combustion engine (typically fueled by petrol) with an electric motor and a battery pack. This hybrid system aims to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions compared to conventional gasoline-powered cars.

In this article, we will check the difference between the Hybrid and EV. We already experienced such cars as Honda City, Hyryder, and Vitara from Maruti Suzuki in India. But there are a few similarities and few differences between the Hybrid and EVs. So, first of all, we here are such points on which basis we will judge which one is best and which cars buyers must buy these days.

1. Technology
2. Price
3. Driving Range
4. Charging
5. Running cost
6. Battery Replacement Cost
7. Service Cost

1. TECHNOLOGY

Electric vehicles: So in EV, you will get a better motor. If your battery is charged then EV will work otherwise not. Especially at that time when you are at a place where the charging port is not available. And there are so many countries including India where we already know how much shortage of charging ports are there. So if you want to ride in the EV you have to put your battery fully charged as well. So this can be a limitation of EV we can say. In 5 ratings we will give only 2 ratings at this point.

Hybrid: On the other hand in a Hybrid you will get an Engine, battery, and motor. In a hybrid, your car will work on both engines as well as the battery also because if your battery is discharged it will work on the engine which works on petrol or maybe diesel. So in case of emergency, you can drive in any mode whichever you feel comfortable with. Not only this we can find every petrol or diesel pump everywhere. So here we must say that Hybrid is quite convenient over here. Talking about the ratings so here we will give it 3 out of 5 ratings because the main purpose of exchanging diesel and petrol is to decrease pollution but the hybrid will not allow us to get advanced and gives hope to go on an easy way to use fuels. Car-like Hybrid is a big break in the way of advanced and pollution-free technology.

2. PRICE

Electric Vehicles: If we talk about the price, Nexon Ev's price is 20 lac in the market. The company claims that the car will cover 450 km per/h which is wrong it hardly covers 300kms distances per/h. The second thing is the price will increase if the range of Ev increases by the way. But some of the EVs are there which are less than 20 lac and suitable for the individual’s pockets.

Hybrid: Well in the case of Hybrid price is also not so far away from EV because we can see Hyrider, Vitara, and City Hyundai are also over the 20 to 25 lac in the market. And the same thing is also allowed over here if the range of the car will increase so the price of the car will also increase. Most of the time we saw that hybrids are more expensive than EVs. Which is a high amount to pay for every middle-class person. Ratings: Here we will give 3/5 to both because both are started from the 10-15 lac and have no idea where it will end. People who can not afford such amounts of cars will become poor if they try to buy these cars by loans with a high percentage of interest.

3. DRIVING RANGE

Electric vehicles: So as we already discussed EVs will cover 350-600 km on full battery charging and there will be chances of less if your battery is not fully charged. It’s a whole game of Battery system. For intense Tata Nexon EV will drive a maximum of 350 km if you have full battery power in your car. So if we give a rating at this point so 2/5 what if we are stuck at the place where we want to with 0 battery and have no chance to get any charging port?

Hybrid: On the other hand Hybrid is based on both mode battery as well as on the engine. Most companies state that make your tank full with petrol and then enjoy the 1000km driving easily and in case you feel that the petrol goes down then you may fill your tank again and then go ahead. In this, we will give 4/5 because this has fewer chances to stuck in the low fuel problem. If we are stuck there are so many ways to get out of those problems.

4. CHARGING

Electric Vehicles: As we already mentioned before an EV is a whole game of battery system. In EV if you want to go far away so you will get a charging plug to charge your car and the settlement staff will come to your home and then settle the charging port wherever you want. After this, if you wanna go outside you must have to charge your car a minimum of 6 hours and a maximum of the whole night. But you know what the worst case is when your car battery is low and there is no electricity also. you can imagine what condition it will be. Accept this country like India where we already know how much shortage of charging ports can imagine how will you survive with the EVs. But now there is hope regarding this because according to the report on current affairs now company is ready to make their EVs with the battery swiping system. Which you can hold a dual battery system for emergency use which is a great part of this technology. So with this technology, we will give 4/5 ratings because there is still a 1% chance of being stuck in the battery system problem if we have no electricity to charge both batteries.

Hybrid: Now let’s talk about the Hybrid system, as we already mentioned the Hybrid has both a facility engine as well as a battery. So here you can take advantage of both engines as well as the battery. Well if we see it scientifically, in Hybrid when the engine works around so the battery will work with the power of the engine. This means if your battery is low so you can take advantage of the engine and charge your battery without any sharing port. So with this facility, we will give 4/5 ratings to the Hybrid. 1 less point is just because more usage of the engine will be the cause of various kinds of pollution.

5. RUNNING COST

Electric vehicles: If we talk about the running cost of EVs so, here we must say that EVs will win this point because the running cost of the EVs is only 1 rs/km no more extra cost. which means this is a very cheap part of the technology of transport. So with appreciation, we will give 5/5 ratings to this point.

Hybrid: On the other hand Hybrid cost will be 5-6 km/ph which is quite expensive. Especially at that time when the price of petrol and diesel is so high and touches the peak of the sky. So with 0 doubt, we will give 1/5 to the hybrid.

6. BATTERY REPLACEMENT COST

Electric vehicles: Here we must say that this point is also won by the EVs because in EVs there is no need to replace anything no clutch, no engine repair, maintenance and no need to change any flutes of the cars and no need to the lubricant of the engine. In short, we can say that it is a bulk driving system with 0 maintenance. So 5/5 rating to this point.

Hybrid: But Hybrid has many limitations at this point because Hybrid needs to pay so many charges for maintenance which is more than petrol. Time-to-time maintenance of the engine, battery and motor. Car service every month. is why Hybrid is more expensive than EVs. So here we will give 1/5 to this point.

7. SERVICE COST So before going to differentiate this topic an impotent note we have to discuss here that nowadays company has given an overall 8-9 years warranty of the cars. which means 1,60,000 km. Maybe we won’t drive that far but here are a few differences between both:-

Electric vehicles:  In EVs, there is a problem with replacing the battery after 8 years of warranty. According to the case of an American person’s tweet, where he wanted to replace the battery under its warranty period, so at that time manager informed him that if you replaced the battery of his car after the expiry of the warranty date so had to pay a high amount which was 7 lac. So if after saving 15 lac during the warranty period of the car then suddenly have to pay 7 lac amount it will heart. Even you will also not get any buyers to buy such an old car. Specially when he knows that he has to pay 7 lac to buy a new battery for the car. At this point, we will give 3/5. maybe the price of batteries will reduce in the future and the important thing is a battery swiping system is also available that will provide you services from time to time.

Hybrid: But in hybrid, if you want to exchange the engine and any battery system so you can easily change at a very low cost than the EVs. On the other hand, you will get the buyers of the cars if you want to sell this car at any time. So here we will give it 3/5 because Hybrid cars are already so expensive for the service charges.

CONCLUSION So, in the end, the conclusion is that You must buy EVs in case you want to travel from city to city or in the city and if you already have a Hybrid car accept EVs. Otherwise Hybrid is affordable as well as long-time working cars for you.

RATING RESULT: According to the rating, EVs get 24 out of 35 and Hybrid gets 19 out of 35 points just because of their loyal results. According to my opinion, we all know that the future will be advanced and we also have no resources like fuel patrols so on.
