Hyundai to install Rapid EV Charging Stations in India

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. officially launched the new plan for the Indian public. According to the latest information, the company is bringing its Ultra-High Speed Public EV Charging Network to key cities and highways across India. Several reports confirmed that it will bring 11 (eleven) Ultra-Fast charging stations, each equipped with three charging points, aiming to drive electric vehicle adoption and ease range anxiety for both city and highway travel.

According to the press release, Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., stated, “At Hyundai Motor India Ltd., we have always strived to create new benchmarks and lead the industry by example. Aligned with our global vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’, Hyundai is always working towards the fulfilment of all its customer needs. In line with Government of India’s focus towards creating a holistic electric vehicle ecosystem, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is committed to enhance customer’s EV ownership experience. The expansion of our Ultra-Fast charging stations to 11 locations is a step in the same direction. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is the only OEM in the country to set-up 11 Ultra-fast charging stations in public locations. We are committed to India and we will continue strengthening the charging infrastructure in line with the Indian Government’s resolve for Electrification.” The electric vehicle car owners who live in cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Bangalore to get the benefit of these new charging stations. Also, the company planned to reveal the charging stations in the major highways such as Delhi-Chandigarh and Mumbai-Surat. They offer round-the-clock service for both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV owners, with additional amenities like coffee shops nearby.


Charger Specifications

As per the information, the all-new Hyundai’s ultra-fast chargers will provide a quick charging experience, especially for models like the Hyundai IONIQ 5, which can go from 10 to 80 percent charge in just 21 minutes. The charging rates are affordable, starting at INR 18 per unit, and can be conveniently accessed through Hyundai’s myHyundai app. 

These EV charging stations are available on the carmaker’s myHyundai smartphone app. In addition to these fast chargers, more than 2900 charging points are mapped on the app and are accessible for all Hyundai as well as non-Hyundai EV users.
