Mahindra XUV400 EL Pro, Tata Punch EV electric SUV revealed

In January 2024, Mahindra and Mahindra officially launched the two new Electric car variants of the Mahindra XUV 400, namely EC Pro and EL Pro. For your information, the all-new Mahindra XUV400 EC Pro is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh, while the EL Pro is priced at Rs 16.47 lakh for the 34.5 kWh battery option and Rs 17.49 lakh for the 39.4 kWh battery option (both prices Ex-showroom). 

The company has totally upgraded the dashboard with new upholstery and an array of new features. Inside the vehicle, the XUV 400 Pro boasts a redesigned center console with grey and black upholstery, complemented by satin copper accents. 

The all-new infotainment system gets a larger 10.25-inch display, offering wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, AdrenoX-connected car technology, Alexa integration, and much more. The vehicle is equipped with a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster that provides navigation and EV-specific information. 

Moreover, other feature include AdrenoX-connected car technology, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, rear AC vents, cruise control, a single-pane sunroof, TPMS, a rear camera, auto-dimming IRVMs, front fog lamps, auto headlamps, auto wipers, and more. 


The new electric car comes with six airbags, all-four disc brakes, ISOFIX mounts, traction control, ESP, and more. In terms of battery pack and powertrain, the EC Pro variant is equipped with a 34.5 kWh battery pack, while the EL Pro variant offers two options - a 34.5 kWh and a 39.4 kWh battery pack. Both variants are powered by a single electric motor that delivers 150 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. 

According to Mahindra, the EV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 150 kph. The 34.5 kWh battery pack offers a range of 375 kilometers, while the larger 39.4 kWh battery pack provides a range of 456 kilometers. The EC Pro variant comes with a 3.7 kW AC charger, while the EL Pro variant includes a 7.2 kW AC charger as standard. The climate control panel are two charging ports and a wireless smartphone charger. 

Another significant change is the new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, borrowed from the Mahindra XUV700. This driver’s display can be synced with the infotainment system to play the maps feed via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The XUV400 EV EL Pro variant offers two battery pack options: 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh, having claimed range of 375 km and 456 km, respectively.

Tata Punch EV electric SUV revealed

Tata Motors is ready to announce the prices of the Punch EV on 17 January 2024. The official bookings of this upcoming Tata EV were started on 5 January for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. TATA Motors has officially brought this new Punch EV electric car model inspiring its older model called the Nexon EV. 

As per the image spotted by the CarWale website, the new Punch EV features a full-width LED light bar running across the bonnet line. Underneath the light bar is the charging port of the EV. Then there is a split LED headlamp setup, a vertical slat-patterned lower grille, and a silver faux skid plate. 

TATA Punch EV

In terms of the rear profile of the EV, it looks quite similar as the ICE version of the SUV. It features a Y-shaped LED taillights, a rear wiper with a washer, a high-mounted stop lamp, shark-fin antenna, and a redesigned rear bumper with silver elements. The all-electric Punch will be offered in Medium Range and Long Range guise with a minimum driving range of 300km on a single charge.
