Maruti Suzuki how now reportedly patented the eWX small EV for the Indian market. First showcased at the 2023 Tokyo Motor Show, the eWX concept is a Kei car for the Japanese market which could also be introduced in India.
Maruti second EV eWX patented
As per the patent document, the Maruti Suzuki eWX feature similar design that was showcased last year. It gets blanked-off grille, vertically stacked lights on the bumper, A-pillar-mounted ORVMs, funky wheels with squared inserts, and the lack of B-pillars. Notably, the car features a windshield that stretches into the roof.
For now the electric car is still in the concept stage, Suzuki has not revealed the interior or technical specifications of the eWX. It could source power from a battery pack paired with a single electric motor with a claimed range of up to 230km.

In addition to the eWX-based hatchback, Maruti is working on the eVX mid-size electric SUV, which will be its first EV offering in the country, set to directly compete with the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
