Rolls-Royce Spectre EV launched in India

Rolls-Royce is known as the most premium and luxurious brand. Rolls-Royce is not just a name it defines luxury. For your information, Rolls-Royce is an engineering company that manufactures Aero-engines and power systems for civil, defence and various other industries. Rolls-Royce cars are manufactured independently by the company called Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited, which is now a subsidiary of BMW. 

The company has now officially launched its first electric model, the Spectre, in India. Interested buyers can get this pure-electric car at Rs 7.5 crore (ex-showroom). 

The main highlight of the car is the design which is quite similar to the typical Rolls Royce, featuring a long bonnet and a fastback-styled rear. As per the specifications are concerned, the first electric car is based on an all-aluminium spaceframe chassis and measures 5.4 meters in length. 

The Spectre has the widest grille ever fitted to a Rolls Royce, and carries forward the brand’s iconic ‘Spirit of Ecstacy’. It has slim LED headlamps, aero-optimized 21-inch wheels and vertical LED tail lights. The Spectre car gets ‘RR’ badge, a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system and intricated LEDs integrated into the door panels and headliner. 

For battery, the company has added a 102 kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of up to 530 km (WLTP cycle). It powers electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles to produce 575 BHP and 900 Nm, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Rolls Royce also confirmed that the battery can be charged from 10-80% in 34 minutes using a 195 kW DC fast charger. The car also gets active suspension and four-wheel steering.

Rolls-Royce Spectre EV India Availability

Rolls-Royce Spectre is all set to land in the Indian market on January 19, 2024. This move follows the delivery of the first Spectre unit in Chennai back in November 2023. Positioned between the iconic Phantom and the Ghost, the Spectre is expected to carry a starting price of ₹7-9 crore, ex-showroom. 

In terms of interior design, in Spectre Electric Car, the front seat design is influenced by British tailoring, allowing for personalized touches like lapel parts in contrasting or complementary colors. The Spectre can also be equipped with Starlight Doors, featuring 4,796 gently illuminated 'stars,' a first for a series production Rolls-Royce. 


Also, the Spectre includes SPIRIT, the system handling vehicle functions and integrating with the Whispers application. This allows clients to engage with their vehicle remotely and access real-time information provided by luxury intelligence professionals. The Planar suspension system, with advancements in hardware and software, ensures a luxurious and smooth ride, even with the Spectre's weight of 2,975 kg.
