The 2024 Indian Premier League officially selected the TATA Punch EV electric car for this year's league. The Tata EV was also the official car for the recently concluded 2024 Women's Premier League (WPL). TATA is rapidly gaining attention in the EV market. As per the specifications are concerned, the Punch EV comes with two battery pack options, both paired with a single electric motor in a front wheel drive (FWD) system. The bigger battery pack offers an MIDC-claimed range of 421 km and the smaller one offers 315 km.
However, in real-world conditions, the bigger battery pack will offer around 320 km of range and the smaller one will offer around 200 km. The Punch EV was launched with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and a sunroof.
Tata Punch EV Features
The standard model features a 60kW/114Nm permanent magnet synchronous AC motor, while the Long Range model is equipped with a more powerful 90kW/190Nm permanent magnet synchronous AC motor. Both models come with IP67-rated motor and battery packs, carrying an eight-year or 1,60,000km warranty. The standard model, equipped with a 25kWh battery pack, claims a range of 315km (MIDC), while the Long Range variant, featuring a 35kWh battery pack, extends the range to 421km (MIDC).
Charging options include a 3.3kW AC home wall box charger, a 7.2kW AC home wall box charger, a 15 A plug point, and a 50kW DC fast charger, providing flexibility and efficiency in charging times. It gets 6 airbags (as standard), ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a 360-degree camera. Prices of the Tata Punch EV range from Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), and it is a direct rival to the Citroen eC3.
